Event Update: Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports of a recall involving R2 Microphone for Cox Box, Cox Box Mini and Megaphone. The metal boom of the microphone can conduct electricity from an exposed speaker wire or connector and shock or burn the users. See Products tab for specifics on the affected items.
▲Nielsen-Kellerman has received reports of five injuries in the United States and one in England. No incidents have been reported in Canada. Users reported second-degree burns where the metal boom contacted their face.
Sold at: Nielsen-Kellerman Co. online and authorized NK dealers worldwide for about $99. Sold in Canada from November 2008 to September 2012.
Corrective Action:
Consumers should immediately stop using the NK R2 Microphone with the metal boom and return it to Regatta Sport or Nielsen-Kellerman for a free replacement.
