The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) reports of a recall involving 2x32W T8 fluorescent wrap around surface mounted EPOWRAP luminaire sold under the ElectriPro brand. The T8 sockets supplied with the unit could potentially pose a risk of fire. See Products tab for specifics on the affected items (including additional photos).
As of Dec. 17, 2012 there have been four reports of sockets burning with minor property damage due to smoke. There have been no reports of injuries
These products were sold by NEDCO and Westburne (banners of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc.) to electrical professionals and business users from April, 2010 to April, 2011.
Corrective Action:
Installers and users who may have purchased the product can contact Rexel for a socket upgrade kit
