Diamond Pet Foods reports that in Canada, greatest distribution of recalled product involved BC, Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick. However, the food may have been further distributed through pet food channels. It is always best to refer to production codes and best-before dates on your bag.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of food contaminated with these bacteria may cause salmonellosis, a foodborne illness. Pets with Salmonella infections may have decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. If left untreated, pets may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. See Hazard Details tab for more information.
